Saturday, we made progress on our house! Woo hoo! Well, not the actual house, but on the property. Our friend, David, is our contractor, and he came out with his skid steer and did some rough clearing for us. Basically, we now have a rough driveway and where our house will sit is kind of cleared out. We chose to go along the natural flow of the property to cut down as few trees as possible. There was a natural clearing where the house will sit (namely because there is one huge tree that has blocked out a lot of growth) and the same thing where our driveway now sits. The driveway winds into the property, so the house won’t be visible from the road.
We knew that four acres was a large lot, but it feels way bigger now that we can actually get into it and walk around. The weather was perfect, in the 70s, so we walked over with the boys. They are little country boys in the making! They were absolutely thrilled to watch the skid steer in action, and even though Brody is our truck-loving boy, he was too nervous to actually sit on it. Not Knox!!
Trevor’s Pop was out doing work next door with his tractor, and Knox and Brody both were happy about that. Brody calls tractors “tacty.”
We are so excited to be moving forward!
